Top Medieval Banquet Experiences in Prague

Entrance to U Pavouka Medieval Tavern
Watch for this alley, it's the entrance to U Pavouka Medieval Tavern
We visited U Pavouka Medieval Tavern, booked through Viatour (or you can book direct) and easily found in the Old Town. On entry our tickets were checked and we were shown to our reserved seats, along with another couple and a group of 4 students. Many of the groups were the stag types, as we went in the evening, but this added to the lively atmosphere.

On sitting down the first course was instantly available, and our server asked for our drink preference and a 500ml tankard of beer and a glass of wine arrived quickly. Throughout the evening as each emptied they were quickly exchanged for full ones, without any hesitation.

Main course options were checked and brought out. Opting for the pork, expecting this to be the most authentic, was certainly a good call and the meal was fantastic, finished off with a basic but very filling chunk of cake afterwards.

Throughout the evening entertainers would appear in the room and do their bit, keeping the atmosphere going from start to finish.

The Best Time to Experience a Medieval Banquet in Prague

Any time of year is good for this experience. Although you probably want to avoid being indoors in the summer, I expect that air conditioning and the underground nature can help.

The experiences are often split between afternoon and evening. If travelling with younger children, who might be intimidated by the stag groups being a little noisier, then try the afternoon sittings. But for a full night out the evening one is great.

Romantic Add-Ons to Enhance Your Evening

Belly dancing entertainment
Belly dancers also joined the entertainment team
Depending on where you choose there might be a few extra add ons to choose from suchg as special drinks, other than that if you feel the evening is over too early pop into one of the other local bars, or take a walk around Prague's Old Town or along Charles Bridge.
